The City of West Hollywood will host the OutLoud Sports Festival Dodgeball Tournament as part of a two-day sports festival over Labor Day Weekend which includes multiple sports at locations throughout Southern California.

Judging on skill and talent rather than identities, the organization ‘Outloud Sports’ is giving everyone a chance to play. Creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ athletes, they have found unity through its diversity, elevating each others individuality.
Humane Animal Partners, formerly Delaware Humane Association and Delaware SPCA, recently received a donation in the amount of $2,300 from [OutLoud Sports with] The Pines in Rehoboth Beach. The funds will directly support HAP animal adoption and low-cost pet retention services.

Earlier this week, Brian Troutner of the Denver Varsity Gay League was a guest on Sports Social. Varsity Gay League is the original LGBTQ+ Recreational Sports Organization and was established in 2007.

Rather, I worked to program the entire night around celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride, from pregame kickball in the outfield by the Varsity Gay League, to the ribbon boards and scoreboards proudly proclaiming it LGBT Pride Night around the stadium.
One of our colleagues here at KPCC+LAist, for instance, met friends through a book club she found on Reader's Circle. Another connected with new people after joining the Varsity Gay League, an LGBTQ+ sports organization.
For example, the Varsity Gay League offers bowling, beach volleyball, and even trivia in cities like Austin and Sacramento. And, they often offer Social, Recreational, and Competitive choices so you can choose your level of intensity.

We were not a very good team so it became more about laughing on the sidelines and talking about music or the differences between dating apps. Some of these men are now among my closest friends.
The Varsity Gay League (VGL), with the help of donations from L.A. City Councilmember Paul Koretz and the Los Angeles Dodgers raised $16,000 on Gay Pride weekend to be used to improve security at Poinsettia Park.
The money, which exceeded VGL’s initial goal of $10,000 was donated to the Los Angeles Parks Foundation c/o Poinsettia Parks Friends. VGL used its annual DragBall tournament to promote the charity.
The two squads joined forces to raise money for the AIDS Food Store in Long Beach. Ben Cary and Erik Legler started the Kicks & Giggles project through the Varsity Gay League.
For our annual celebration of sports, the Los Angeles Blade reached out to LA’s very own Varsity Gay League and asked players and team leaders to nominate their choices for the most outstanding athletes among their ranks. One of the easiest ways I made friends was by joining Varsity Gay League, an LGBTQ-inclusive weekend kickball league… I wouldn't have believed you if you told me that four months would be enough time to find friends I adore, a roommate I'm obsessed with, someone to fall in love with, someone to break my heart, and oodles of cliché Cali drama to get swept up in — but I'd have been wrong.

Varsity Gay League will be honored during pregame ceremonies with a Dodgers Community Hero Award. Hackner founded Varsity Gay League in 2007 and it has since grown into an organization reaching the LGBT community in 13 cities across eight states with over 15,000 members.
